Karen Roy MSc. CCMEP is Principal at Ardgillan Group LLC, established in 2012, to provide best practice consulting in healthcare education.

Karen brings over two decades of global experience in industry, from a career that started in sales, and has included positions in clinical research, training, and education.  Working in cross-functional teams she has provided leadership for educational program development in support of product launches and Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS).  Karen has also advised on various compliance-related projects.

Having established her early career working in the UK and Europe, Karen moved to the US in 2005 and led the Medical Education department at Cephalon 2008-2011. In this role, she had oversight for the strategic allocation of educational budget, the revision and update of compliance policies, best practices for communications with Accredited Providers and the customization and launch of a grants management system. Karen was also chair of the Independent Medical Education Grants Review Committee. 

Karen has been an invited facilitator, speaker and panelist at a number of Medical Education conferences, where she has addressed a diverse range of topics in Medical Education including Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategies (REMS), CME advocacy and Auditing. In 2011, Karen was appointed to the National Taskforce for CME Provider/Industry Collaboration

Karen completed undergraduate studies in Science in Dublin, Ireland, and holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Pharmacology from University of Aberdeen, Scotland and is a Certified CME Professional (CCMEP).
